What do you do on a weekday morning? I don't know about you, but I pray with college students every morning at 6:30am. Find it hard to believe? Me too. But consistently, I am reminded of the Lord's faithfulness as women come every week, every day to pray together. This morning we had 29 women (from our Households and campus) in our little apartment praying liturgy of the hours. 29 women beginning their day thanking our God for who He is and what He's done. 29 women joining in the prayer of the Church. 29 women praying for our campus, our world, our church, our families and loved ones. 29 college students. And this happens every week....every day. I'm convinced that this is at the heart of what God is doing on our campuses. My heart is steadfast, O God, My heart is steadfast! The faithfulness of these students is amazing. It inspires me. It calls me on. I don't know about you, but I never once in college got up at 6:00 in the morning so I could pray. Yet every day these students do. Prayer is powerful. I see it every day. I can see it especially as this academic year comes to a close. I see the power of what God has done in the lives of young people: college freshmen learning how to pray (together and personally), students being generous with their time, seniors being generous with their futures, men and women treating one another as brothers and sisters and with great respect, faithfulness to prayer and small groups and friends. Minds are being renewed. Only God can do that! Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. -Romans 12:2 Let's thank God for the work that He is doing and pray for more of His grace to respond to the invitation He holds out to us: "Come to me, my son, my daughter. Come to me. Seek my. Find me. Know me. I love you. Let us share in life together."
